Feature - Plus Work Order Production Event

Feature - Plus Work Order Production Event

Release Date: 08/30/2025
Version: 8.5 & up

In Plus Work Order, when the operator is using the Work Order Production method to record time and production, the system now can optionally trigger an event when the production is reported.  All productions through "Work Order Production" will trigger this event.  Hence if you subscribe to this event, you should use filter conditions to narrow down the conditions to notify you.  This event is very similar to the "Production Negative Labor Variance Event".  See the following KB article:
The only difference is "Production Negative Labor Variance Event" will only be triggered if the production time exceeds the expected production time and over a certain threshold as defined by the Global Setup.

You can subscribe to this event by going to System Utilities -> System Files Setup -> Maintenance -> Operator File. Bring up any operator and press the "Event" toolbar button.  In the Event Request SYOPRFIL window, press F5=Insert and select the "All Production by Operator" event. See sample screen below:

Typically, in the Event General Tab, you will choose the following:
  • Action Type = Email
  • Disposition = Recurring request
  • Click on the "Subscribe to All" button so this event applies to all operators
It is important you add filter conditions so you don't get overwhelm by all production events. See sample screen below:

In above example, it intends to catch those productions that are "too good to be true." The "Variance %" needs to be over 90% (positive variance), and the "Variance Hours" needs to be over 0.25 hour (15 mins) because you may not be interested in knowing those operations can be done quickly even if it is too good to be true. If you receive an event email like this, it may imply your production operators may not use the Work Order Production time clock systems as intended.

The following variables are supported:
  1. Operator ID
  2. Work Order Number
  3. Operation# & Desc
  4. Item#
  5. Item Description
  6. Production Qty
  7. Production Hours
  8. Variance Hours -  You can use this to filter so you only send an email when the variance is greater than a certain number of hours. The value in this field can be both positive or negative. Positive value means the operator takes less time than expected.  Negative value means the operator takes longer time than expected.
  9. Variance% -  You can use this to filter so you only send an email when the variance is greater or lesser than a  certain percent. Positive value means the operator takes less time than expected.  Negative value means the operator takes longer time than expected.
An email similar to the following can be sent:
