How to Install 2023 Zip Codes, Cities, and County Code Updates

Release Date: 09/07/2023
Version: 8.5 & Higher

In Elliott 8.5d.907 and 8.63.907 and after, the Zip Codes, Cities, and County Code tables are updated to Post  Office's 2023 August data. The following are Elliott's affected tables:
  • SYZIPCDS.BTR - Zip Code Table
  • SYCITY.BTR - City Table
  • ARCOUNTY.BTR - County Code Table
The last Elliott update of these tables was in 2016.

Once you install Elliott 8.5d.907 and 8.63.907 releases or after, the three new tables (dated 09/07/2023) will be installed into the following Elliott folders:
  • <ElliottRoot> - e.g., M:\Elliott7
  • <ElliottRoot>\Bin85\NewData - For Elliott 8.5 Installation
  • <ElliottRoot>\Bin86\NewData - For Elliott 8.6 Installation
  • <ElliottRoot>\Tutorial - If this is a new installation
These three tables also reside in each DATA* folder. However, since you may have modified these tables in the DATA folder, it is advised that you do not directly copy these three tables over to your DATA* folders.  Instead, you should choose "Synchronize" to merge the tables in the DATA* folder with the new tables just installed the <ElliottRoot> directory.

To synchronize, after installing the proper Elliott 8.5 and 8.6 updates, you can launch either Elliott 8.5 or 8.6 and choose the company that you wish to update then perform the following steps:
