Expand Item Description 1 and 2 Character Limit

Q -What is the possibility of increasing the character limit of Description 1 and Description 2 in the Item File? What would be the consequences of doing this (how would this affect POs, WOs and customer orders)? Reason: We are having a hard time adequately describing some items in just 30 characters. We are looking for options.

A - We are not making any changes to the database size at this time, but we would suggest using a Note. You can attach a Note to an item with a specific Note Type and then indicate which documents the Notes with that Note Type should print. Each Note has 10 lines of 60 characters, and you can add as many Notes to an item as you wish.
