Why Printing or Posting Events Does Not Work with Message Box Option
Release: 04/06/2022
Version: 8.5 & Up
Q - I set up a msg box event to pop-up when buyers enter an
EDI PO. The event setup is shown below. I just found out that it’s not working. It looked okay to me. Can you see why
it’s not working?
A - Message box won’t work in this case. This particular
event is inside a printing/posting routine. Elliott does not allow triggering a message
box in a printing/posting routine. There are many reasons. One of them is
we can’t support message box in deferred processing. Just imagine how we would handle the popup of a message box in deferred processing.
You need to use email.
