Version 4.5 or Higher of Microsoft .NET Framework Is Required

When you start up Elliott 8.5 or 8.6, you may receive the following message:

Version 4.5 or higher of Microsoft .NET Framework is required,

but not available on this computer. If you continue without

version 4.5 or higher, results are unpredictable.

We strongly recommend that you donwload and install the 

latest Framework 4.5 (or higher) before continuing.

The above message is from 8.6 which is implemented as a warning and will show up each time you start up Elliott if your PC fails the .NET checking.  In Elliott 8.5, it is implemented as an error condition and you won't be able to proceed.

Checking .NET Framework Version on Your PC

To check if you have proper .NET Framework installed, you may use "Regedit" to go to the following path:

    \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full

You can use the following table to check the "Release" value to determine if you have the minimum .NET version requirement:

 Since the value of "Release" in the above example is 461814, it means it is above .NET Framework 4.7.2, but below .NET Framework 4.8.
