Feature - Change Sales Desk Quote to Use Order Quote Email Recipients Flag

Prior to this feature, Sales Desk Quote Acknowledgement email recipients were determined by the following logic:

  1. All eContacts on the quote will receive acknowledgement emails.
  2. If there is/are no eContacts associated with the quote, then the user would be prompted to enter a single email which would default to the customer's primary eContact.
Starting in Elliott V8.6, we introduced three additional flags in the eContact, Web tab, "Email Docs" button window as follows:


With the implementation of the feature in Elliott 8.6, the Sales Desk Acknowledgement Quote email will also use the Order Quote flag above to determine if a contact should receive the Sales Desk quote acknowledgement email. The following is how the application will determine which eContacts should receive the Sales Desk quote emails:
  1. All eContacts on the quote  will receive acknowledgement emails by default, unless specifically indicated with "No."
  2. All eContacts on the corresponding Customer, Ship-to and Salesman with the Order Quote flag set to "Yes."
  3. The primary eContact flag is irrelevant in determining whether or not to receive a Sales Desk quote acknowledgement email.
Any users using the Sales Desk Quote Acknowledgement emails should evaluate this change when upgrading to 8.6 or installing this Elliott update.  You could use a utility in Global Setup -> Utilities -> System Utilities -> eContact Utilities -> Update email Do Flags to help. This utility will allow you to update these 3 flags through CSV import.
