Feature - Added Option to Calculate Commission on The Terms Discounted Amount

Feature - Added Option to Calculate Commission on The Terms Discounted Amount

Release Date: 08/29/2025
Version: 8.5 & Up

Note: This enhancement applies only to the Commission by Cash Receipt method.

We have a customer that calculates commission by cash receipt based on the terms discounted amount. For example, if the payment terms with a customer are '2% 10 NET 30,' and the customer pays within the 10-day period to receive a 2% terms discount, the commission for the salesperson should be based on the net amount received from the customer.

This was not a function within the commission calculation in Elliott, so we added a flag and the logic to calculate the commission as requested.  First, we revamped the Salesman Commission Control Global Setup, since this was the most logical place to put the new flag.  The first screen contains the fields to control the Salesman Commission Codes.

The second screen adds the new flag to control the commission calculated on the discounted amount.

The default is N, since that is the original design.  A value of Y will trigger the new logic when commissions are calculated.  This logic only applies to commissions based on cash receipts.  After the cash receipt has been posted, the commission calculation takes the invoice and payment and subtracts the difference for the terms discount.  The discount is reflected in the Adjusted Commission Amount when commissions are calculated.
