Deferred Process in V8 Runs Right Away
Q - I'm trying to set up Shipment Conf Emails in Elliott V8 to run on a deferred basis. I select Disk to spool the report, and Defer. See screen shots below.
Then I click "go," and the program starts running immediately. What am I
doing wrong?
A - In your scenario, both the Defer tab and the Disk tab are checked. So the system set up the Defer task per your setup in the Defer tab, then ran the reports right away and spooled to disk.
If your intention is to set up the Defer task only, you should uncheck the Disk tab. The deferred processing is always spooled to disk, so there's no need to check the "disk tab."
