V8.6 Feature: User List with Elliott Commerce/Elliott Cloud Users

V8.6 Feature: User List with Elliott Commerce/Elliott Cloud Users

Release Date: 2/16/2026
Elliott Version: 8.6 and higher

Background

Netcellent is currently developing new software that will run new subsets of Elliott from anywhere that has internet access:
  1. Elliott Commerce:  Elliott Commerce is a back-end web service that provides data access and business logic for new Elliott products.
  2. Elliott Cloud:  Elliott Cloud is a web-based solution that provides a run-anywhere, modern user interface that uses the APIs of Elliott Commerce.  Initially, Elliott Cloud will include a Sales module to support our customers' salespeople.

Licensing

Our customers have purchased concurrent-use licenses for giving their users access to Elliott.  Elliott Cloud will be able to share any of the Elliott licenses that are not being used.  This update expands the User List task in Elliott Control Center to include information about Elliott Cloud Users and Elliott Commerce licenses.

To use the new version of the User List task, you must run the Elliott configuration program (EL860CF.Exe) that resides in the <ROOT>\Bin86 folder.  After launching EL860FG, go to the Other tab and check the box labeled Use Cloud License User List:

Now you will see the new version of User List when you select that task from the Control Center.

User List Operation

There are three different types of Elliott license users, each represented by a radio button on the top line of the screen.

Elliott Users

By default, you will see the Elliott users currently taking up a license.  This list provides most of the information for each of the users:

Double-clicking or pressing Enter will drill down to a dialog that shows all the values for the highlighted Elliott user:

Elliott Cloud Users

When you select the Elliott Cloud Users radio button, you will see all the licenses currently being used by Elliott Cloud users:
