Transfer Tickets Generated from Negative Material Production Work Orders

Transfer Tickets Generated from Negative Material Production Work Orders

Release Date: 11/10/21

Version: 8.5 and Above

Normally, processing of a production work order would create an “M” type transfer ticket to move the components from the stocking bin to the production bin. It would also create a “P” type transfer ticket to move the parent from the production bin to the stocking bin after production is completed. Reporting production will prompt for the production bin where the parent inventory will be received. This creates a “B” type record in the IMBININV table with the bin that was entered. It defaults to the production bin but can be changed to another bin. Posting this transaction will do one of two things. If the production bin was specified, it creates a transfer batch to move the parent from the production bin to the stocking bin. If the stock bin is entered during production transaction processing, the bin inventory is updated during posting and no transfer batch is created.

When processing a negative production work order, the parent item should be moved from the stocking bin to the production bin for disassembly. This should create an “M”  transfer ticket for the parent item when the production work order is printed. The “P” type transfer batch should be created at the time of transaction posting containing all of the components from the disassembled parent. The components resulting from the disassembly need to be transferred from the production bin to their stocking bin. The entry of the production transaction should not prompt for the bin for the parent item, but posting the production should subtract the quantity from the parent production bin and it should add the quantity to the production bin for all of the components on the production work order.
