Q - How does the below message come about? Should I rename DAL.TX$ to DAL.TXT and have them re-import?

Interface file m:\macola67\salesorderimport\DAL.tx$ exists.
This usually indicates a failure of the previous interface.
Please determine if you still need the content in this file.
Either rename it back or delete it and interface again.

A - Before the sales order import starts, it will attempt to rename the imported ASCII file, in this case, DAL.TXT was renamed to DAL.TX$. Then the sales order imported DAL.TX$. This file is only meant to exist when the import is taking place and is temporary. The existence of DAL.TX$ when you try to import indicates that the previous import session was stopped abnormally. 

Compare the DAL.TX$ to DAL.TXT. If they are the same size with the same data, then you can just remove the DAL.TX$. If they are different, then you may want to name it something else so it can be imported later. If there is no DAL.TXT, then you can just rename DAL.TX$ to DAL.TXT and try to import it again.
