How to Skip Range of Orders in COP Order Inquiry

How to Skip Range of Orders in COP Order Inquiry

Release Date: 09/20/2018

Q - Currently, the COP Sales Order Inquiry screen is designed to show the last order number first.  My COP sales order is approaching 999999. I intend to reset it to 1000 through COP setup before it rolls back to zero or something. When that happens, in our Order Inquiry screen -- which is now sorted by the reverse sequence of the order number -- it will no longer show our newest orders at the top. We have to scroll _all the way down_ to get to our newest orders starting from 1000…. See sample screen:

Any recommendation for this scenario?

A - There is a solution that can help you. For our example, we have two different order ranges.  One is in the range of 900000, and the other is less than 100000.  This scenario is common if Elliott users decide to keep the regular Elliott orders, EDI orders or web orders in different ranges.  As you can see in the following example, the Elliott order number is reaching 904344:

If you want to see the order number that's less than 100000, how do you get to those orders without scrolling through all the 900000 series of orders? To do that, you would first press the F1 key at customer#. Then, at the order number field, enter 100000 first before pressing the F1 key. See screen below:

As the result of entering 100000 first before pressing the F1 key, it brings up the first order before 100000,  which in this case is 70390. See sample screen below:

This principle works for any order number range: you can simply enter the starting point of the order number and then press the F1 key.  The sample principle applies to the F2 key (List All Orders).

Because of this feature, you can have multiple ranges of orders and you still can get to those orders quickly without scrolling through from the end.
