How Is Scheduled Qty Avail Calculated in QTYAVAILBYCOMP Attribute for a Manufacture Item?
Release Date: 11/18/20
Version: 8.5 & Up
A - How is "Scheduled Qty Avail" calculated for a manufacturing item? See example below:
In the above example, since we didn't purchase this parent item directly, does it means we can promise customers that we will have enough components on 12/13/2020 so we can produce 26 of them?
Q - The answer is "YES" based on the current quantity availability of the components. But allocation for parents and components can change between now and 12/13/2020. Below are the details. This MM item consists of the following components:
Item# | Qty Per | Stock Qty Avail | Schedule Qty Avail | Schedule Date |
KBX8130* | 1 | 26 | 192 | 1/3/2021 |
KX8610 | 1 | 79 | 420 | 12/15/2020 |
KBH8960DXC | 1 | 0 | 60 | 12/13/2020 |
KBH8960DXH | 1 | 10 | 60 | 12/13/2020 |
KBDH8960DX | 1 | 86 | 180 | 2/21/2020 |
The component KBH8960DXC is the critical component now. But
if you consider the fact that you are going to receive 60 of them on
12/13/20, then it is no longer the critical component on that date. Our
schedule date thus is 12/13/20. On that date, item KBX8130* becomes the
critical component which we expect to have 26 of at that time.
Therefore, you can promise 26 on 12/13/2020 as of this
moment.
