Feature - Show “Active” Operators in Operator File Inquiry

Feature - Show “Active” Operators in Operator File Inquiry

Release Date - 8/8/16

The purpose of this feature is to enhance the Show/Hide Terminated Operator option in Utilities -> System Files -> Maintenance -> Operator File -> Maintenance and BOMP-> Inquiry -> Operator Inquiry. This option will now allow the user to show/hide inactive operators.

A new option in Utilities-> Global Setup-> Dist- BOMP Global Setup-> Screen 6-> 4. Show Active Oper in Oper Inq if Last Activity <= Days? has been added to allow the user to define an active operator.

The default value is zero, which means that this feature is disabled. If a value other than zero is entered, then this feature is enabled. In that case, the application will check to see if the operator's last logon and logoff date is greater than the number of days as defined in setup. If yes, the operator is considered inactive and will not be shown on the screen when hiding inactive operators.

New operators are also considered inactive by default since they do not have any time transactions on file.

When you access Operator File Maintenance, you can add, change and delete an operator. This application will display the inactive operators by default. When you access Operator Inquiry, you can only inquire the operator’s activities without making changes. By default, the application will not display the inactive operators. Within both functions, you can press the F3 toggle key to either show or hide the inactive operators.

This feature changes the definitions of the of F3 toggle key to either see the “Active” operators or not to see them instead of just terminated operators. If the above Global Setup flag is turned on (not zero), then "active operator" is defined as the operator last login and logoff day is <= the days defined in Global Setup. New operators or terminated operators are always considered inactive. For example, the operator MICHAEL below would be considered inactive if the system date is 8/8/16 and the new Global Setup option is set to 60.

If the above Global Setup flag is turned off (zero), then "active operator" is defined as the operator that has a last login or logoff day value. New operators or terminated operators are not active operators.

When users access the application from Operator File Maintenance, by default all operators will be displayed, active or non-active. The F3 key, “F3=Hide Inactiv” or “F3=Show Inactiv,” is available to toggle between active and inactive operators.

When users access the application from Operator Inquiry, by default only active operators will be displayed. The F3 key, ”F3=Show In-Active Oper” or “F3=Hide In-Active Oper,” is availalbe to toggle between active and inactive operators.
