Feature - Print Pick Ticket to Create Transfer Batch to Use Ship Date - Buffer Days
Release Date: 05/26/21
Version: 8.5 & Up
When users print pick tickets, if the inventory transfer feature is used (e.g., multi-bin users,) the transfer batch transaction date and time uses the following logic:
- Transfer Batch Transaction Date: Use System Date
- Transfer Batch Transaction Time: Use System Time
We have now introduced new Global Setup flags in Dist -> Inventory Transfer Control, Screen 2:
28. Sales Order Transfer Start Buffer Days
29. Sales Order Transfer Default Start Time
See sample screen below:
As a result, the new logic is as follows:
- Transfer Batch Transaction Date: It is now calculated as "Pick Ticket Line Item Earliest Ship Date - Buffer Days," unless the end result is less than the system date. In that case, the system date is used. The system will look at all the line items on the pick ticket to determine the earliest ship date. Ship date by default is the promise date, but it can also be the request date, depending on Global Setup. In addition, the system will look at the company calendar (System Utilities -> System File Setup -> Maintenance -> Calendar File) to make sure the Transaction Date does not fall on a weekend or holiday.
- Transfer Batch Transaction Time: Uses the Global Setup default start time, unless the default start time is zeroes. In that case, use the system time.
