Feature - Added "Enforce Price Code Price Progression Rule" Global Setup Flag

Feature - Added "Enforce Price Code Price Progression Rule" Global Setup Flag

Release Date: 03/02/2023
Version: 8.5 & Up

In Global Setup, COP-Ctl, and Price Control Feature, the following flag has been added:
    4. Enforce Price Code Price Progression Rule?
The default value is "Y."  See sample screen below:

If this flag is set to "N," then COP, Maintenance, and Price Code File Maintenance, in Add or Change mode, will allow the higher quantity level price to be higher than the lower level price.  A warning will be given, "Error in Price Progression, Are You Sure?," with a prompt to confirm the entry.  See sample screen below:

In the example above the Level-02 price is higher than the Level-01 price.  This is not typical since a customer who buys more is usually given a better price.  In some cases where the Selling Unit Of Measure is each and the Stocking Unit Of Measure is case, a fractional value must be entered for the Selling To Stock Ratio.  If this value has to be rounded up, then the case price may be higher than the each price.  It would be necessary to turn on this feature in Global Setup.  A decision can be made for each item whether to respond "Yes" to the "Error in Price Progression, Are You Sure?" prompt.  This flag only applies to Price Codes with a Pricing Basis of "P" (price).  It does not apply to codes where the price basis is by Markup or Discount by percent.

On the other hand, a Global Setup value of "Y" (default) will cause Price Code Maintenance to reject the entry in the above scenario.
