Close Transfer Order Requires Resetting ATP and Qty On Order

Close Transfer Order Requires Resetting ATP and Qty On Order

Q - When I choose to close a transfer order, I receive the following message:

Close Transfer Order Requires Reset ATP and Qty on Order

What does this message mean?

A - In the past, users were not allowed to close transfer orders via COP -> Processing -> Consolidate/Close Customer Ord -> and Close Order.  On the other hand, you could close transfer order line items individually in the Order Entry Line Item screen.  The reason is because a transfer order contains the following special logic:
  1. Transfer Order will update Qty on Order for the transfer location (in transit).
  2. Transfer Order will update ATP for transfer location (incoming quantity).
This feature is supported through the Order Entry Line Item screen when the transfer order line item is added, deleted, closed or canceled.

In the past, when you would try to close a transfer order from the COP -> Processing -> Consolidate/Close Customer Ord -> Close Order menu, you would receive the following message because we didn't have the correct supporting logic there to allow you to close a transfer order properly:

Close Procedure Does Not Support Transfer Order

In our update to the program on 8/23/2016, we changed the logic to allow you to close the transfer order even though there will be issues with ATP and Qty on Order.  Therefore, we are advising you to reset ATP and Qty on Order manually.  You can run these two utilities by going to:
  • Reset ATP: I/M -> Util-Setup -> ATP Regen and Process -> Generate -> Total Regen
  • Reset Qty on Order: I/M -> Processing -> Reset Qty Allocated/On Order -> Reset on Order
